The Gift of the Magi

This story is about a poor couple who struggle to make life as good as it can be. Christmas is approaching in a hurry, tomorrow to be exact. Della and Jim are both desparate to get the other something nice and meaningful for Christmas. There are two possessions which the Youngs take great pride in. One is Jim's gold watch that was his father's and his grandfather's. The other is Della's hair. Despite their money struggles, the pair each want to make this a memoriable Christmas for the other.

What the two do next illustrates the true meaning of love and the true meaning of Christmas.
